Apart from staying in an hotel which is front line on the beach, the visitor to Paphos can also take advantage of the wide offer of amusements and culture of the city, and then go deep into the interior of the island to visit the beauty spots. This small destination, which each year attracts more and more visitors, comprises the old quarter, known as Ktima Paphos, and Kato Paphos or Nea Paphos which is the area nearest to the sea and is the tourist nucleus of the city. Next to the fishing port we find the mediaeval fort and some typical taverns. The journey from the airport to the hotels takes about 30 minutes (approx. 20 kms.).
